LINER NOTESβ

TOP/ABOUT

About Liner Notes

A short piece of writing for the track, album, artist or label you are listening to — and a list of where every fact in it came from.

HOW ARTICLES ARE MADE

The facts come from public sources: MusicBrainz and Wikidata for structured data, and Wikipedia, which we read as individual facts rather than copying its prose. Each fact is stored on its own, with the source it came from recorded alongside it.

An article is then drafted by an AI model from that set of facts, and an editor reads it before it is published. Every published article carries the list of sources it drew on. Articles in other languages are written from the same facts rather than translated.

WHAT WE DO NOT DO
THE DESKTOP APP

A companion app for Mac shows the same articles while you listen. It is a small invite-only beta rather than a public release. Write to us if you would like to try it.
